Africa has the youngest population in the world, with 70% of sub-Saharan Africa under the age of 30, their potential to shape a healthier, more resilient future is undeniable. Through the Level up biosecurity, Lock Out AMR Campaign, young people are stepping up as champions of biosecurity and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) prevention, turning knowledge into action in their communities. With energy, innovation, and a deep connection to local realities, Africa’s youth are not just the future—they are the force driving change in farm biosecurity, sustainable agriculture, advocacy and public awareness, ensuring tomorrow is safer, healthier, and free from AMR burden.

What We Do

We empower youth to lead the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by promoting biosecurity, responsible animal health practices, and sustainable farming across Africa. We provide youth tailored capacity building, mentorship, and resources to equip young champions with the skills needed to educate communities, influence behavior change, and implement practical interventions. Through grassroots engagement, partnerships with local institutions, and regional collaboration, we are building a resilient network of youth leaders committed to safeguarding livestock health, protecting livelihoods, and securing a healthier future for all.

Youth Capacity Building

We train and mentor young leaders on biosecurity, AMR prevention, vaccination practices, and sustainable livestock management.

Community Engagement

Our champions lead grassroots campaigns to raise awareness and promote behavior change in local farming communities.

Youth Advocacy & Policy Engagement

We amplify youth voices to influence national and regional policies on AMR, sustainable agriculture, animal health, and biosecurity.

At the heart of the Level Up Biosecurity, Lock Out AMR campaign lies a commitment to building healthier communities and resilient agri-food systems through five strategic focus areas. These interconnected pillars guide our efforts to drive lasting change from the ground up. Together, they form the foundation for a safer, more sustainable future for Africa’s livestock sector and the communities that depend on it.

Antimicrobial Resistance

Raising awareness about the dangers of AMR and promote responsible antimicrobial use in animal health. Our goal is to reduce misuse and overuse of antibiotics, helping protect both human and animal health.

Farm Biosecurity

Build Capacity of youths to support farmers to adopt practical biosecurity measures that prevent disease outbreaks. Strengthening on-farm biosecurity is key to reducing dependence on antibiotics and improving productivity.

Sustainable Agriculture

Advocating for farming practices that protect the environment, promote animal health, and ensure long-term food security. Integrating sustainability into livestock systems, helps communities thrive without compromising future generations.

Animal Vaccination

Promoting timely and appropriate vaccination as a cost-effective way to prevent disease and reduce antibiotic use. Increased vaccine uptake boosts herd health, reduces mortality, and enhances overall farm resilience.

Youth Empowerment

Equipping young people with knowledge, leadership skills and platforms to lead AMR and biosecurity efforts in communities. Youths are key drivers of innovation, advocacy, & sustainable impact across Africa.
